Panda Gila River Project
SouthWestern Power Group assisted in the development of the Gila River Power Project, subsequently sold to Panda Energy International and renamed the Panda Gila River Project. We sited and actively participated in the permitting and early success of the Panda Gila River Project.
The Project today consists of a nominal 2400-MW combined cycle, gas combustion turbine power generating facility located north of the town of Gila Bend, Arizona. Construction of the facility began in the second quarter of 2001, and the first phase should be completed in 2003. The Project will produce reliable, low cost, environmentally friendly energy for Arizona and the growing southwest.
