Panda Gila River Project
SouthWestern Power Group assisted in the development of the Gila River Power Project, subsequently sold to Panda Energy International and renamed the Panda Gila River Project. We sited and actively participated in the permitting and early success of the Panda Gila River Project. Construction of the facility began in early 2001.
The Project today consists of a nominal 2,200-MW combined cycle, gas combustion turbine power generating facility located north of the town of Gila Bend, Arizona. The plant is now fully operational producing reliable, low-cost, environmentally-friendly energy for Arizona and the growing southwest.
